this is maybe my least woke pet peeve, but as a a heavily autistic/adhd person, i really don’t like when other neurodivergent people repeatedly don’t consider the people they’re talking to as real enough to have a conversation with instead of to talk at
Pre game lobbies in ARAM pmo so much cuz like why are u refusing to switch me champions and then you don’t even end up playing the one I tried to switch for
But u change it at the last second so now NO one can play Janna, like is everything alright at home that u act like this
The more I read Riot Phroxzon's view on what's healthy for the game, the more I don't think I want to play the game Phroxzon wants League to be.
I'll actually put effort into this response rather than just shitposting on Twitter for once:
I'm sorry, but I don't want Riot optimising for "frustration" because you think it'll bring longevity.
I'm sorry but I don't think powerful Mages Bot and Ranged Top bring "essential texture + variety" to League's experience.
I'm sorry, but I think the constant hyperfixation with Pro-Play and endless changes explicitly for them make League a significantly worse game for the rest of us.
I'm sorry, but by contrast the absolutely glacially slow rate of changes for SoloQ and the average player feel even worse.
Needing months of data with the current "lets wait and see!" approach results in routinely nothing being done about problems for 6+ months (People have been quitting Top Lane all season, Riot still have no immediate plans to fix this).
And even with all that data, they still make the most bizarre and inexplicable choices (Graves is literally being buffed next patch...?)
The game has felt like it's been managed by ChatGPT for the past year, it feels like a complete waste of time to be completely honest with you.
I truly believe both Riot and the playerbase have the same desire, to make the best version of League of Legends possible.
I just think this Live Pod's vision for the "best version of League" is fundamentally at odds with a huge huge amount of the current playerbase.
I think for many of it's most dedicated players, Riot Phroxzon's view of what League should be is not a game many of us want to play.
I think that's very sad.
I guess it is what it is.
Is COVID Amnesia so bad we ignore that kids watching the world they grew up in virtually disappear over night and never return would be impacted by that in adulthood?
