Mira Bellwether, author of FTW, has died. Her zine was -and still is- a profoundly important resource on trans women’s sexuality. Download it and read in her honor: https://t.co/Qtw6EBX6rV
(Sales go to CJ and @cathymarinara to help with medical expenses.)
❤️ RIP @TheeBellwether
It really sucks when your brain is like 'haha this art idea is gonna flop and no one will commission it' and you do it anyway trying to ignore bad brain worms, but it ends up being right anyway and only a close friend shows any interest in it...
@Kareesbhareska @null_jesse Giving some light reading! Dyke was a slur aimed towards Black masculine people assigned female at birth & women, assumed to be lesbians. The word was reclaimed by those it was used against. Often synonymous with lesbian but not always

@olrawnder@AmiliahDaBengal @null_jesse think of it this way: dykes are attracted to and prioritize people of marginalized genders, be they women, non binary, etc. Trans men have a long intetwined history with dykes as much as Twitter and younger generations would like things to be black and white.
@olrawnder@AmiliahDaBengal @null_jesse Butches are dykes too. Bi/pan people can also be dykes bc gender can also tied into dyke identity, not just sexuality. I know it'd be simpler to say "a dyke is this one thing" but it's not simple bc we arent a monolith!
@AmiliahDaBengal@olrawnder @null_jesse not all dykes are women, gender noncomformity has always been an element to dyke history. genderqueer & nonbinary dykes are also dykes.
so tired of self proclaimed trans "allies" having public "gender" reveals. just have a damn baby shower and leave it at that. y'all know better.

white men like to call women "karens" bc they can hide their blatant misogyny by co-opting a term Black people use to describe encounters with white women. 😒
