A 23-year-old man, Cain Mumba, is believed to have di€d only 18 days after paying lobola for his wife, Thelma Hliwayo.

Cain wanted to take his wife home immediately after the lobola ceremony, but church leaders told him that they could only live together and have s€x after a white wedding. Cain was upset by the decision and later drank rat pois0n. His family said he was deeply affected by the situation and described him as a loving man and a promising family leader.

Mourners are gathered in Budiriro 4, while burial arrangements are yet to be announced.
