Qalanjo Protects & Aid joins in condemning the horrific murder of the late Ahmed Shire Hussein in Middle Shabelle, an incident that has profoundly shaken the hearts of the Somali people.
The late Ahmed Shire was a member of the national army. While traveling due to a medical condition, he was killed in a clan-revenge attack in Middle Shabelle. Before he was killed, he pleaded mercifully with his captors to spare his life.
“The Somali community must stand up against incidents like this, make every effort to defuse clan-based tensions, and play an honorable role in mediating between brotherly communities to prevent such heinous killings from happening again,” said Anfa Aden Abdi of Qalanjo Protects.
Qalanjo Protects & Aid also urges the Somali public to refrain from retaliation, clan-based killings, and social conflicts, and instead resolve disputes through dialogue, peace, and the justice system.
BAYDHABO: Fighting is ongoing in the city, forcing many families to flee their homes. Women and children are among those displaced, with some seeking shelter and spending the night inside mosques because they have nowhere else to go.
The situation is deeply concerning, as civilians continue to face fear, displacement, and difficult living conditions. Women and children urgently need safety, shelter, and humanitarian assistance.
Baydhabo needs peace and stability, and civilians must be protected.

Qalanjo Protects & Aid welcomes the decision of the Court of Appeal to release Sacdiyo Mo’allin Cali, who had been in the custody of the Somali government for an extended period and who experienced numerous forms of mistreatment while in detention.
Qalanjo considers the release of Sacdiyo Mo’allin Cali a commendable step that demonstrates the importance of upholding justice, human rights, and due legal process.
“I strongly welcome the release of Sacdiyo Mo’allin Cali. It is a commendable step, and I hope that the rights of citizens and the independence of the judiciary will always be respected.” — Qalanjo
The release of Sacdiyo “Bajaaj” sends a message to all security and judicial institutions of the Somali government: the law is above everyone, and every citizen has the right to justice.
Qalanjo Protects & Aid is deeply saddened by the three-year prison sentence imposed on Sacdiyo Macallin Ali (Sacdiyo Bajaaj), who has already been detained for more than 75 days by the Federal Government of Somalia.
Sacdiyo is a mother striving to support her family and build her life. She does not deserve such a harsh punishment, especially when the matter concerns the expression of her views. We call for her release and for her freedom to be respected in accordance with justice and the rule of law.
Somali women, especially mothers and those who play vital roles in society, deserve to have their dignity, justice, and fundamental rights protected at all times.
