If you want to see what a foreign influence operation looks like, look no further than the X account of Al Jazeera for Progressives, also known as AJ+.
Al Jazeera is owned by the Qatari royal family. As you read the AJ+ profile below, keep in mind that in Qatar there are:
❌ No human rights NGOs
❌ No elections for head of government
❌ No political parties
❌ No local journalists who criticize the government
…and the leaders of Hamas live in Qatar with the love and support of all the people of Qatar.
We continue documenting how Qatar uses paid media partnerships to promote its own narrative.
The Financial Times hosts a dedicated sponsored content hub for Invest Qatar, produced by the FT’s commercial department. Qatar is buying space to tell its own story under the brand of a major global newspaper.
Qatar’s media influence in Australia, exposed.
On August 12, 2026, Karryon journalist Dani Tuffield published a glowing feature promoting Doha as a luxury destination.
At the bottom is the disclosure: she travelled as a guest of Qatar Airways and Visit Qatar.
Tuffield says this was already her third visit to Doha, with an earlier visit also described as a “famil” trip.
Qatar is not simply promoting tourism. It is bringing journalists to Doha and generating favorable coverage for Australian audiences.
On February 28, 2026, AIGO revealed that it organized a curated Qatar press trip for five Italian journalists representing Marie Claire, Corriere della Sera Viaggi, Quotidiano Nazionale Network, Travel + Leisure and Confidenze.
The client? Qatar National Tourism Council.
The journalists were invited on a carefully designed journey showcasing Qatar’s culture, luxury, restaurants and desert experiences.
This is how Qatar works to shape the stories Western audiences see about the country.

48 hrs after Zohran Mamdani becomes NYC’s first Muslim mayor, One World Trade Center—the tower built after 9/11’s attacks by Islamic terrorists—lights up green for Muslim Heritage Month. What irony, especially with claims he avoids fully condemning the attacks. 😏
When a mayor swears in on the Quran over the Bible, it’s a sign our modern world is crumbling by compromising our Judeo-Christian heritage. From NYC to global cities, straying from biblical foundations weakens societies.
We believe you, Romi.
Some are denying what happened to Romi Gonen, who was raped during her captivity by Hamas. Denying a survivor’s reality is an injustice.
Stand with Romi. Share her story so it cannot be erased: https://t.co/MnSvHKaM0g
I’m excited to share a special moment for @CombatASemitism — President Trump @realDonaldTrump personally responded to our appreciation note in The Jerusalem Post, thanking us for it.
Our monitoring at @CombatASemitism has identified hundreds of events planned for tomorrow, October 7, that openly support Hamas.
Two years ago, Israel was taken by surprise as more than 4,000 armed terrorists from Gaza infiltrated communities, towns, and military bases.
In a single day, they murdered 1,200 innocent people, including children, women, and the elderly. They burned families alive in their homes, raped women, kidnapped over 250 hostages into Gaza, and committed atrocities that the world recognizes as crimes against humanity.
Leaders—tomorrow do not allow these groups to march and hijack our history.
Any attempt to rewrite or distort what happened on October 7 is nothing less than support for terror, and it must not be permitted.
6+ yrs ago, we launched @CombatASemitism as antisemitism surged. We saw institutions ignore threats from radical Islam & far left. We don’t. We focus on real threats, not branding orgs as threats without cause.
Proud that @CombatASemitism, founded 6+ yrs ago to counter institutional failures, now unites 950+ partners & 4,000+ decision-makers with a strong research dept to fight Jew hatred. Support the fastest-growing movement to fight antisemitism: https://t.co/NJQnqD6Ogo
