The Powell River Public Library can trace its origins back a number of decades! This photo is from 1954, and was taken in the Westview Public Library. It's a snap shot of story time, though if you look closely, one child is sleeping.

#artiFACT This Beuscher trombone belonged to Carl Whitney, the first barber to set up shop in Westview. Whitney was also a member of the first community band.

#artiFACT For November's #artifactofthemonth staff has picked this bronze memorial plaque from World War I. It was sent to the donor after her husband died overseas in 1917. The name on the plaque is Hazen Winslow Hall.
