Rotation matters in throwing, but being able to stop might matter even more. Think of a car: if you slam the brakes, everything drives forward. If you ease to a stop, thereโs no force. Same thing hereโstop harder and you create more power and control.
Everything we do in training is built to match what shows up under the lights. We keep finding ways to put quarterbacks in tough spots and teach them how to win in those moments.
You got it wrong if you think your foot has to point right at the target. Every quarterback moves different. The key is finding YOUR best spot for foot strike and the angle it needs to hit so you can throw it clean. Once you understand that your game can go to the next level.
Some coaches throw a bunch of shit at a wall and hope it sticks. We donโt coach like that. We pick one thing, go all in on it, get it right, then stack the next fix.
If your room was ice cold would you set the temp to 60 degrees thinking it's going to get you warm? No you'd crank it up to 80 then figure it out from there. Sometimes a mistake takes an over correction to get you on track.
One of the biggest concepts we teach is balance at the top of the drop. This drill is about what your thought should be in that moment so you can get into an effective position to throw.
Everyone talks about arm talent, but the end of your drop decides everything. If that last step isnโt under you, you canโt drive it. Great drops set great throws.
Every QB should start sessions this way. Subtle movement + Brady shuffle = clean base, straight line throws, to get your day. How do you start your workouts?
Most QBs think level shoulders = rotation. Itโs not that simple. When you find yourself really outside your frame problems occur. Maintain spinal tilt to take your accuracy up a notch.
Drill work like this matters. Multiple QBs working together, each finding different throwing lanes. Itโs real movements that we see come up each and every gamedah.
The key to throwing on rhythm starts with balance at the top of your drop. If your base is too wide or too narrow, your timing and sequence are off before the ball ever leaves your hand. When you find that perfect balance, everything about your throw starts to sync up.
