Starting tomorrow, June 3 & 4, contractors will be completing some scheduled maintenance on the Bear Creek Greenway between Blue Heron Park in Phoenix and Valley View Road in Ashland (Crack Seal). Temporary delays may be necessary. Please use caution when traveling through & around the work area.

⚠️Bear Creek Greenway Fire Season Restrictions Now In Effect - May 15, 2026
Pursuant to Chapter 1228.05(b) of the Jackson County Codified Ordinances, all off‑pavement use of the Bear Creek Greenway is prohibited during the Oregon Department of Forestry declared fire season.
All users must remain on the paved path along the Bear Creek Greenway.
Off‑pavement use of county‑owned property is prohibited.
Restrictions will be enforced per Jackson County Codified Ordinance Chapters 1228.05(d) and 1228.09, in addition to applicable state statutes.
Exceptionally low rainfall and snowpack have resulted in drought conditions for Lost Creek and Applegate lakes, creating challenges for refilling the reservoirs ahead of the summer recreation season.

Jackson County has received reports of scammers sending text messages and emails while pretending to be County staff.
These messages may use real permit numbers, addresses, zoning applications, or staff names to appear legitimate.
Jackson County does not require payment by text, email, or phone. If you receive a suspicious message, do not respond directly. Verify the request using official County contact information.

Fire danger will begin at LOW, and the Industrial Fire Precaution Level will be IFPL I.
During low fire danger, some activities are restricted, including debris burning, fireworks near ODF-protected land, exploding targets, and tracer ammunition. Please follow all fire season rules and help prevent wildfires before they start.
