@SudoAptInferno @BruceHeerssen All my devices are Wallace & Gromit characters. My primary Windows laptop is always Wendolene, and I used to have Linux installs named Feathers McGraw, which is what started the trend. My fav name: Fluffles the Shuffle (iPod).
Oh my. NVIDIA is now publishing Linux GPU kernel modules as open source with dual GPL/MIT license, starting with the R515 driver release. You can find the source code for these kernel modules in the NVIDIA Open GPU Kernel Modules repo on GitHub. https://t.co/G5Vpoi9dNh
@jeffthemossman@SudoAptInferno We literally threw away our Brother WiFi printer. It wouldn’t wake up from deep sleep after a certain Windows Update, which is exactly the reason i got rid of a Brother network-capable MFC in college. We have an HP now that JUST WORKS. We returned a Canon before that
@jeffthemossman@SudoAptInferno I had network printing with a netbook and a USB Brother printer. Then Windows got rid of Homegroup, and then we had to buy a series of WiFi printers that didn’t work
@SudoAptInferno Media Monkey worked through iPhone 8. Idk my iPhone 12 mini bc I have been using only Spotify on it 🤷🏼♀️ but still need iTunes *installed* but it doesn’t need to run to transfer via MM
@SudoAptInferno See if you can BYOD on the modem! (My ISP technically supports it but curiously throttles only my D-Link but not their trash fire combo box, so ugh, good luck.)
…the other half are these: visual style edits to Win7 like to remove the stupid glass overlay, font reassignments, and keyboard remaps for laptops I no longer own
I made a new .reg the other day to take out the stupid username display on MSO365. Apparently I’ll need to run it on startup every time, so until I look up how to write .bat files or probably just find that one I made in 2011, my plan is to just click the shortcut on my desktop
@SudoAptInferno Interestingly, when I ran some scans on my Lenovo, one of the utilities said that my RAM had a free slot. I’ll investigate further, since I was pretty sure its 16gb was soldered in. I didn’t even check when I installed the SSD in place of the storage HDD.
@SudoAptInferno Anyway, even with physical drives, I used to partition to keep my data separate. On my first laptop, I split my 40gb HDD: 15gb system, the rest storage. lol now I have 512gb separate SSD just for storage
