@AllAboutPookie@harryjsisson That would require continued acknowledgement of his existence and he shouldn't be granted that respect. His name should be permanently blotted from the collective memory as if he'd never existed in the first place.
@JE_Maleta@boom_tentpeg@whizzerprice Conversion doesn't change a person's ethnic Jewish status. They were born Jews and remained Jews by descent and ancestry, even after converting. Note: Schoenberg actually returned to Judaism later in life.
@aditiitwt Even if you built the gravity dome all the way to orbital height you'd only be cutting fuel by 30-40% or so. The majority of fuel usage is obtaining the required velocity to remain in orbit.
The ICJ issued provisional measures based on the plausibility of a risk to rights under the Genocide Convention, not a conclusion that genocide is occurring. Iโll wait for the ICJโs final judgment before reaching that conclusion myself. That said, yes, under international law (as affirmed by the UN Palmer Report), Israel can intercept vessels attempting to breach its naval blockade of Gaza, even in international waters.
It is an authoritative interpretation and restatement of customary international law on naval warfare on the high seas (Geneva Conventions, 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, 1913 Oxford Manual, and long-standing state practice). It may not be a treaty but it's binding custom.
There's not been a court case. The UN Palmer Report (UN Secretary-Generalโs official panel) examined the issue and concluded that the naval blockade of Gaza is a lawful security measure under the San Remo Manual on armed conflicts at sea.
San Remo allows blockades in wartime to stop weapons being transported in. Flotillas openly trying to breach it can be intercepted, even in international waters.
