Some years ago I wrote that African politicians can loot state coffers and once in while, organize a charity event. And people will still celebrate them and say “well at least he is a generous thief”.

That is how most of our first ladies on this continent became distributors of sanitary pads and plastic buckets in so-called charity activities, handing back crumbs of what was stolen from the very people receiving them, and being applauded for the generosity of the gesture.

I realised today that the exact same logic applies to foreign powers looting our resources. They can extract hundreds of billions over decades, assassinate our leaders, control our currencies, poison our waters and then return with a token pledge of meager investments at a summit they organised to rehabilitate their own image, and people will say: “well, at least they were kind enough to host the event here because hotels were sold out”.

When you have been conditioned long enough to expect nothing, a crumb looks like a banquet.

Manuel Cepeda Vargas quería a la gente que trabaja, la clase trabajadora, era periodista para decir la verdad, un parresiasta, como yo.

Tener el coraje de decir la verdad, como enseñaba Foucault, pero Manuel Cepeda, leía más a Antonio Gramsci, que a Foucault, y quizás, a Hegel y sobretodo a Marx.

Manuel Cepeda era marxista y creía que el socialismo de los trabajadores era posible.

El senador y periodista Manuel, murió en su creencia porque lo asesinaron. No fueron los paramilitares, fueron militares enceguecidos por la venganza y el adoctrinamiento que castraba todas las formas del pensar y solo dejaba una doctrina: la ideología del capital en su extremismo brutal.

Mientras yo buscaba pensamientos en otras partes, asesinaban al senador Manuel Cepeda en Colombia.

Lo asesinaron por ser senador brillante, incorruptible, por ser marxista inteligente, por ser periodista y decir verdades, porque no amaba a los dueños del capital, sino al pueblo trabajador.

Por eso, aquí, desde Colombia, invito al arte progresista del mundo a Santa Marta, el corazón del mundo, a expresar el arte libertario, porque el estado pedirá perdón desde Santa Marta, a la humanidad, por haber cometido un genocidio político. El estado permitió que logias sangrientas de paramilitares, políticos y militares enloquecidos, asesinaran miles de trabajadores humildes militantes del cambio, militantes de la Unión Patriótica.

El genocidio de la Unión Patriótica, donde militaba Manuel, el partido al que le asesinaron más de 6.000 militantes, en sus casas, en sus sedes, frente a sus hijos, en las asambleas sindicales, en las bananeras, en las carboneras, en las petroleras, en las escuelas, en los campos y las ciudades, torrentes de sangre obrera inteligente, en las calles.

La política tradicional se alió con los capos del narcotráfico para asesinar a los dirigentes del pueblo que crecían y llevó al estado al genocidio.

En mi voz le pido a las fuerzas armadas, que su doctrina sea la de los valores de la humanidad.

En mi voz, el estado de Colombia, pedirá perdón a la humanidad.
