The betrayal of the Iranian people is almost irrefutable now. 159 days since Trump said “help was on its way.” Shameful and disgraceful. This matters, as those of us who actually were/are practioners, who are tasked with speaking with/assisting/recruiting indig forces…well, there will be historic references any of our future potential partners will always bring up….the Afghan withdrawal under Biden, was terrible…gut wrenching abandonment….and now the abandonment of the Iranian people under Trump. Equally awful. If not worse. So…The word of the US ends up meaning, what? Now, Ukraine was a huge success, yes. In terms of my old world, and support to indig forces….but the overall scorecard as a reliable ally….our record is very very mixed. Makes job particularly hard for those that actually DO things in far away places…
