Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde to Trump: "I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now. There are gay, lesbian, and transgender people in Democratic, Republican, and independent families, some who fear for their lives ... and the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals"
@john_durgavich I fear you are right about deaf ears. And yet, I believe that even deaf ears can learn to hear if a message of compassion is repeated with gentleness and love.
Gustav Klimt died on February 6, 1918. On the very next day, Egon Schiele went to the morgue of the Allgemeines Krankenhaus, and did three drawings of his friend, whose head had been shaved. "Head of the Dead Klimt" is one of them.

Never seen anything like this.
Us Quakers are fans of "speaking truth to power".
We also don't have Bishops.
But here Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde gives an absolute *masterclass*.
Seriously, I'm in awe of the courage that must have taken.
Definitely my kind of Bishop (if we had them 😉).

A sad tale from Shakespeare and mythology about a delicate flower that hangs its head - Fritillaria melagris.
“And in his blood that on the ground lay spilled
A purple flower sprung up, checkered with white,
Resembling well his pale cheeks.” Shakespeare
