@virtualcourtney In quantum physics in general the sign does matter. Certain variables (like fermions) MUST have an anti-commutator of 0, so xy+yx=0. Whereas with a conservation law like conserved momentum, you’d find that the momentum p commutes with the Hamiltonian, pH-Hp =0 is required.
