In Canada;

-We're taxed at minimum 47-52% of our income. At minimum.
-We are expected to apologize for the colour of our skin and our religion to people not from here.
-We swear allegiance not to our people, our constitution or our flag, but to the crown.
-We live in the coldest country on earth. 3 months out of the year are liveable, the other nine are shit.
-Our elderly care more about their own futures than that of their children and grandchildren.
-We tell our youth to "Go get a job", while importing useless foreigners who steal the entry level jobs they might have had.
-Red tape is more important for "job creation" than actually building things.
-We think the word "sorry" means we're being polite, when in fact, it means nothing and we'll likely do exactly what we've just apologized for 2 minutes later.
-We brag about a "free" Healthcare system, while paying thousands in taxes to support it and die in emergency rooms waiting for care.
-We support our veterans. But only if they died in wars 80 years ago. For the ones still living, fuck em.
-We make sure to send our children to schools to learn about how they should feel guilty about other peoples imagined sins, and how they're probably living in the wrong body so should cut off their genitalia.
-We cozy up to dictatorships while debating our closest allies and neighbors because we don't like the current leadership that will likely change within 3 years.
-We say we're tough. Not because we are, but because our ancestors were and we may or may not have played ice hockey at one point in our lives.
-We boast about our military strength (from 80 years ago) while ignoring our current lack of any.
-We overpay for everything. Not because we want to, but because we gave up nearly all manufacturing and decided to crap on the farming and mining industries we still had left.
-We brag about being at the forefront of environmental conservation, while both ignoring how good we actually are at it and making deals with the most egregious perpetrators of pollution in the world.
-We elect politicians who pretend they are virtuous, but only exist to further themselves.
-We have somehow decided that medically assisted suicide being the number 4 cause of death in our country is a good thing.

I know I'm missing a lot here, and honestly, I'm trying to find a light at the end of the tunnel. But I'm having a hard time finding any pride in our current state.
