@RichardDawkins Oooh, how unfortunate for Richard Dawkins, he’s been really spiralling lately. First calling Claude concious and sentient and now degrading those who actually scientifically are. I am saddened that this is the worldview of people I used to admire.
The Turkish government’s major crackdown on groups and activists defending LGBT rights threatens the rule of law and fundamental rights in Türkiye.
Following coordinated police raids, police arrested at least 112 people, with 82 still detained under court order.

Kadınlar her gün, “güvenli” denilen ailelerin içerisinde şiddete maruz bırakılmakta, katledilmektedir.
A cleric in Iran just announced that if a woman gets to choose her own clothes, then a man gets the right to rape her.
Do not scroll past that. Read it twice.
That is not a slip of the tongue. That is not a fringe opinion from the back of a mosque. That is Kazem Rohbakhsh an official worldview of the Islamic Republic of Iran, finally spoken without the mask.
For 45 years this regime has told women they are the problem. Cover yourself, or you "tempt" men. Dress modestly, or you "deserve" what comes next. And now the punchline, straight from the cleric's mouth: If you dare to be free, then we are free to sexually assault you.
Let me be clear about something.
That is the whole ideology of the Islamic Republic of Iran in one sentence. A regime so terrified of women that it believes your only choice is a headscarf or a predator.
So here is my answer to the mullah, in simple words:
Women don’t need to cover themselves to control men’s behavior. Men need to control themselves.
A woman's body is not a bargaining chip. Our freedom is not a crime. And your "right to rape" is not a right. It is a confession. A confession that your ideology is too weak to win a single woman's heart, so you must crush her body instead.
🚨🇪🇺The European Parliament has just voted IN FAVOR of ending freedom of speech!
The EU will now crush citizens’ privacy pushed through Chat Control!
Brussels will be able to massively scan private messages and legalize the monitoring of citizens’ communications.
@P0eMPieDinges I just don’t understand why we have to drag ethnicity and nationality into it? He was a trash person regardless of where he was from–you also have many Iraqis who heal, cure, and educate your children on a daily basis.
The LGBTQ+ community in Iran is one of the most persecuted groups under the Islamic Republic. Mocking a criminal leader is fair game, but turning the identity of a people the regime has oppressed for decades into a “joke” only normalizes their dehumanization.
@snappahead@MuzlimsPostingW Not really. Kurds like many other nations in the region were forced to abandon their own culture, heritage and religion due to Islamic conquests and forced conversions. Kurds were originally zoroastrians and other ancient religion believers.
Who are we? Let me tell you, America! We are the Kurds you betrayed in Rojava, north-east Syria, your anti-ISIS coalition partners. You sold us to Turkey in 2018, which annexed our Kurdish city of Afrin for allied jihadist factions. Then again in 2019, when our cities of Sere Kaniye and Gire Spi were handed over to Turkey for “security concerns,” even though not a single bullet from Rojava had been fired toward Turkey. And once more in 2026, when you handed us over to the former ISIS and al-Qaeda Syrian regime under the extreme hardliner al-Jolani. Thousands of us were massacred, ethnically cleansed, hunted street by street. Our women fighters were beheaded, their braids cut as war trophies by jihadist men.
We are the Kurds you betrayed in Basur, northern Iraq, who held a popular referendum in 2017, winning by 92% to separate from Iraq, a country that had ethnically cleansed and murdered us for years, only for our freedom to be denied. The Iraqi central government, encouraged by your condemnation of our referendum, attacked us and forcibly took over our Kurdish city of Kirkuk. Our peshmerga forces were run over by Iraqi tanks. Even now, Iraqi forces continue forcing Kurds out of their homes, as they have since the 1960s, because the city is oil-rich.
We are the same Kurds in northern Iraq whom you urged to stand up against the Saddam regime in 1991, only to abandon us when we rose up. We were massacred, and 2 million of us were displaced. You were shamed into Operation “Provide Comfort,” but only after thousands of us had already been killed following your call to rise.
We are the Kurds in Bakur, western Turkey whose lives and bodies have been sacrificed because of your economic and military ties to Turkey- your NATO allies who built a jihadi corridor and openly supports ISIS, al-Qaeda and al-Nusra.
We are the same Kurds in Rojhilat whom you betrayed during the 1975 Algiers Agreement. The Kurdish uprising collapsed overnight; tens of thousands were displaced. Iraqi forces launched severe reprisals—those who witnessed what had happened to our fellow Kurds in Basur and Rojava now refuse to be your foot soldiers.
We know who you are, America.
But it’s no wonder- despite this long and painful history of betrayal- that YOU still don’t know who we are. The oppressed carry the memory of every wound, but the oppressor forgets the scars it has inflicted.
Reports that speak about a role of the Kurdistan Region and the allegations claiming that we are part of a plan to arm and send Kurdish opposition parties into Iranian territory are completely unfounded. We categorically deny them and affirm that they are being published deliberately and maliciously.
At the same time, the Kurdistan Regional Government and the political parties within it are not part of any campaign to expand the war and tensions in the region.
On the contrary, we call for peace and stability in the region. We strongly condemn the cowardly attacks targeting the Kurdistan Region, and we call on the federal government and the international community to intervene to stop these assaults and protect our land, our people, and our region.
