I think it goes without saying but @HuntingEnglish merely reiterates the notion that closing the vocabulary gap is a cross-curricular opportunity. So... it isn't down to English teachers and it should be a whole school idea. Morphology will link subject knowledge! #TeamEnglish

When we consider 'reading for pleasure', it is integral that we recognise reading ability has a significant effect on whether it proves pleasurable or not (it isn't very pleasurable if you aren't very good at it!) Useful psychology research here: https://t.co/ZkmuVhJw9x
