Dear Nigerian Government,

When our children were abducted in Oyo, we saw urgency.
You deployed 1,000 forest guards. You provided updates. You showed concern. You pursued the kidnappers and eventually brought the children home.
We applauded you because we believed that response reflected the value you place on every Nigerian life.
So why has the response to the #BornoSchoolChildren been so different?
Their parents have protested repeatedly. They have pleaded for their children. Yet months later, we are still waiting for the same urgency, the same visible effort and the same determination we witnessed in Oyo.
No Nigerian is more Nigerian than another Nigerian!
It is already a failure that these children were abducted. It would be another failure to allow their parents to keep pleading while their children remain in captivity.

Khadijah bint Khuwaylid ibn Asad , Also Known as: Khadijah al-Kubra (Khadijah the Great)

She married Prophet Muhammad ﷺ before his prophethood, traditionally dated to around 595 CE.

She was the first person to believe in his prophethood and supported him emotionally and financially during the earliest period of Islam.

They had several children, including Fatimah (رضي الله عنها).

She died around 619 CE, a few years before the Hijrah. The year of her death is remembered as the Year of Sorrow (Am al-Ḥuzn) bcus the Prophet ﷺ also lost his uncle Abu Talib around that time.

In Islamic tradition, Khadijah is regarded as one of the greatest women in Islam.

🪖🫡 This is what happens when troops respond before the dust settles.

On 13 September, t£rr0r!sts attacked Unguwan Lalle in Sabon Birni LGA, Sokoto State. Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA responded to the distress call, engaged the attackers, forced them to withdraw, and rescued two kidnapped victims.

But the t£rr0r!sts made a mistake. They tried to regroup.

Troops confronted them again in a fierce gun battle recovering 157 rounds of PKT ammunition, phone batteries, and other items.

In a separate operation on 12 September, along the Kaduna–Birnin Gwari road, troops arrested a suspected drug peddler, Yohana Musa, with a large quantity of suspected illicit substances.

These operations demonstrate the importance of timely intelligence and sustained pressure on criminal networks. The fight is ongoing and every round recovered, every peddler arrested, every victim rescued is a step closer to lasting peace.

These aren't assumptions. These are accounts from victims I have interviewed people who either escaped, were freed after ransom or rescue during Military operations. Their testimonies reveal a system designed to strip you of hope before you even think of fleeing.

THE METHODS:

🛑 Shoes are taken. Sometimes from the moment of abduction. Victims walk barefoot through thorns and rocks. By the time they reach camp, their feet are torn and bleeding. Some return home needing skin grafts.

🛑 Ankles are shattered. Deliberately broken with stones or gun sh0t. Walking becomes agony. Escape becomes impossible.

🛑 One is shot in front of everyone. A warning. The body is left in view for days. No one forgets.

🛑 Chains. Motorcycle chains. Tight enough to chafe through skin, leaving bleeding wounds that never heal.

🛑 Sun torture. At noon, able-bodied men are forced to lie face-up staring at the sun. If they blink, they are beaten. Many return with permanent eye damage.

🛑 Starvation. Just enough food to survive. Just weak enough to prevent resistance. Victims return skeletal.

🛑 Married couples are separated. Men are told: if you escape, your wife will be gr@p£d repeatedly and ransom will still be paid for both.

🛑 Collective punishment. If one person escapes, everyone left behind is whipped. You are beaten for someone else's courage.

This is not random brutality. It is psychological warfare. It is systematic. It is evil.

And it is why the fight against b@nd!try is not just about k!11!ng t£rr0r!sts. It is about rescuing the living and ensuring that no one ever has to endure this again.

208 DAYS OF MALLAM NASIR EL-RUFAI IN DETENTION: HOW LONG MUST A POLITICAL PERSECUTION CONTINUE BEFORE JUSTICE PREVAILS?

Today marks 208 days since Mallam Nasir El-Rufai was detained. Two hundred and eight days away from his family, his freedom and the people who continue to stand with him. Two hundred and eight days in which allegations remain allegations, yet detention continues. Every passing day raises a deeper question about the fairness, independence and credibility of the process.

Where is the urgency? Where is the conclusion? Where is the conviction? If there is credible evidence against Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, let it be presented and tested before a competent court. If the law provides for bail, let it be meaningful. If there is a case to answer, let the trial proceed fairly and without unnecessary delay. Justice cannot become punishment before guilt is established.

Mallam Nasir El-Rufai served Kaduna State for eight years. His record can be debated, criticised and scrutinised. That is democracy. But political disagreement must never become a licence to deny anyone due process. Today it is Mallam Nasir El-Rufai. Tomorrow, it could be someone else. The principle must therefore be bigger than politics.

208 days is not merely a number. It represents 208 days of unanswered questions and a growing test of Nigeria’s commitment to the rule of law.

We will continue to speak.
We will continue to ask questions.
We will continue to demand justice.

I saw a Hausa guy selling oranges by the roadside on Sunday after church. He was peeling some and arranging them in trays in his wheelbarrow.

I wanted to make orange juice, so I told him to give me ₦15,000 worth of oranges (120 pieces). He looked at me like, “What do you want to do with 120 oranges?” I laughed and told him I needed them for something.

I was in a hurry, so I asked if he could peel all 120 for me. He said yes and promised he would be done in one hour, at most one hour thirty minutes.
I had never met this man before. I had literally just seen him by the roadside. So as I was leaving, he asked me to give him at least half the money first so he could be sure I would come back.

I understood where he was coming from, so I gave him 9,000 naira and told him I’d be back in one hour thirty minutes. I even asked if he’d still be at the same spot, and he said yes. I eventually came back after TWO HOURS.

This man was still there. My 120 oranges were completely peeled, properly packaged and ready for me. I was genuinely impressed.

I don’t know if it was because I was speaking Hausa with him 😂, but I’ve always known Hausa people to be very honest. Their yes is their yes. This man could have easily disappeared with my ₦9,000 or sold the oranges to someone else, but he stayed, did exactly what he promised and waited for me.

Very honest businessmen, honestly.
