I'm so exhausted from this idea that authors aren't entitled to seek anything but readers are SO entitled to everything. ppl have commodified fanfic so badly that authors are villified for wanting support for their freely shared work, but readers are treated like paying customers
Adrian definitely gifts a dress to Grace that shows a little too much skin and looks a lot like their celebration attire.
Adrian says its because they dont know human anatomy well yet.
Rocky would call his mate out on their blatant lie. But Grace looks really good.
comparing fic numbers of two different ships with two completely different target markets is commodifying fanfic btw
just because one fic tag has larger numbers doesn’t mean it’s “superior” if you have a problem with that maybe you should pick up the pen
people are allowed to be disappointed when they don't get much response to something they worked hard on regardless of what it is
just bc it's a hobby doesn't mean you're not allowed to be upset by it and it doesn't mean you're just looking to go viral or get a bunch of hits
there is absolutely an element of needing to write for yourself but fic writers post and share as part of being in the community and being disappointed when something you worked hard on doesn't get much of a response is human and not deserving of a 'seek therapy' comment
people r so spoiled about fanworks nowadays like did everyone forget fanartists and writers are under no obligation to draw stuff for you to look at let alone do it for free and yet you will have people demanding you to draw x and y in the replies or why didnt you draw z
@Sirens_Scales I think this is why I almost exclusively write oneshots now too. If I'm disappointed by a lack of engagement, I have no pressure or expectation to continue the story. I can abandon it and move on without guilt
@Sirens_Scales Ngl i often end up abandoning it. I don’t bother writing it at all and just keep daydreaming about it instead. Why do all the labour of translating what's in my head to paper if no one else cares? It's better in my head anyway
3200 people liked this stupid fucking tweet. Pick up a fucking pen and starting writing, if all of you did that instead of complaining maybe youd have more fanfics to enjoy!
