Have you ever had to tell someone that continuing their very desired pregnancy could kill them? I have. No one should have to make that gut-wrenching decision. Forced birth in a country with one of the highest maternal mortality rates is absurd.
This was never about “pro-life”.
1/Today I was providing abortion care. Something I am proud to do. But today, something happened that angered me to my core. Today, I had to hold the hand of a sobbing patient who had been traumatized by a crisis pregnancy center (CPC).
I’ve been thinking about the paid leave for miscarriage. When I delivered at 22 weeks my then husband could only take 2 days off work. He had to go back to work 2 days after our son died and I was still pregnant with the other 2 (and quite ill) not knowing if they would die.
I love it when somebody tweets a very normal thing about the American healthcare system and people in other countries reply with pure astonishment and genuine concern for our well being
@alex_coston Not just you! Even the word histrionic is derived from hysteria (hyst = womb/uterus). It’s 100% rooted in sexism. I feel like Cluster B personality disorders tend to have the most overlap, so I just refer to them all as Cluster B traits personally 🤷🏻♀️
Thank you @NBMEnow for canceling step 2 CS. Don’t get me wrong, you’re still a garbage organization for forcing broke med students to take out student loans to pay for this pointless test for the last 16 years, but this is a good start.

Science is science & data are data. Doctors have no reason to make up #COVID19 case numbers, & in fact many have died from the virus. It’s irresponsible & dangerous to suggest doctors, incl. #obgyns, have done anything other than bravely battle this pandemic. #NoSpinJustScience
Good Lord.
Suggestions include attending a tuition-free medical school, “improving financial literacy,” and applying to fewer medical schools.
Why not include “Don’t be poor” while you’re at it?
I feel like there's a lot of "calm down" happening and I'm here to provide the counter: saying "calm down" rarely results in that, and now is not the time to calm down anyway. Go on, freak the f*ck out if you need to.
Gotta love it when they call a patient altered, then you go and chat with them in Spanish and they give you a history... like his not altered he just don’t know english 🙄 #RepresentationMatters
