You think the FDA approves poison?
Let’s walk through how this actually works.

I've worked in industry 20 years.
Every drug, pesticide, and food additive must pass a brutal process.

Not vibes.
Data. Thousands of pages of it.
Want to put something on the market?

You need to prove:

→ Is it toxic?
→ Does it cause cancer?
→ What if someone’s pregnant?
→ What about bees? Soil? Water?
→ What happens at 0.001 mg over 2 years?

That’s just the start.

Who demands this?
→ FDA.
→ EPA.
→ EFSA.
→ ECHA.
→ ANSES.

Who pays for it?
→ Industry.

Why?
Because the law says they must.
No data = no approval. Period.

These aren’t feel-good blog posts.
They’re full-blown studies under GLP, with standardized methods and auditable records.

Rejected? Often.

Peer-reviewed? Yes.
Re-analyzed? Constantly.

Regulators don’t rubber-stamp.
They slice these studies apart.

“But they’re funded by industry!”
Yes. So?

Remove industry studies and you lose 90% of the data regulators need.

Universities don’t have €10M to run 2-year rat studies.
Industry does - because it’s legally required.

And these studies aren’t locked in vaults.
→ They’re reviewed by panels.
→ Published on regulator websites.
→ Summarized in public risk assessments.

You can literally read them yourself.

Throw it all out because it wasn’t written by someone in sandals and a podcast mic?

Enjoy:
❌ No new drugs.
❌ No safer pesticides.
❌ No science-based regulation.
❌ No climate-friendly fertilizers.
❌ No data on endocrine disruption.

That’s not caution.
That’s collapse.

So what’s the point of the FDA?
To take these mountains of data and say:
✅ This is safe under X conditions.
❌ This isn’t - come back with better data.

They protect you - by demanding evidence, not emotion.

Want to make the system better?

→ Demand transparency.
→ Push for open data.
→ Let independent experts replicate findings.
→ Enforce strict standards.
But don’t torch the whole system because you saw a meme.

Science is messy.
But it’s also rigorous.

And the regulators?
They’re the firewall between you and actual poison.
