Hi thanks for coming across my page. I'm looking for internships in quant research/trading or software engineering. Currently studying CS in the US, proficient in Python and C++. Open to unpaid opportunities to gain experience. DMs open.
if you have ever used or downloaded this @Polymarket trading bot, move your funds to a new wallet immediately
this repo called simone46b/polymarket-trading-bot contains a malicious npm package called polystream/streaming, it pretends to be a sha256 validation utility, but it is actually a credential harvester
the malware recursively scans your directories for a .env file, reads your private key, and secretly sends it to a remote server, the behavior is hidden using double base64 encoding to avoid detection
there are multiple red flags, including fake dependency versions that do not exist and a hardcoded ip address used for trading signals, allowing the attacker to manipulate trades
if your private key was stored in a .env file where this bot was run, that key should be considered compromised, delete the repo, remove the malicious package, and report the repository for malware
do read this carefully👇
before falling for any polymarket bot, ask this yourself that why would anyone give away an edge?
this is a competitive game, and if someone claims they will give you a working, profitable strategy for free, the best outcome you can hope for is that it doesn’t even work
for some reason, the buzzword arbitrage shows up constantly in these projects, treat it as a red flag and double-check everything that uses it
always audit the code or use trusted, open-source tools from the official polymarket docs

A thread of practical ways to learn how to trade crypto funding
The common method is to learn a bunch of nerd stuff and then get liquidated, scammed, hacked or rugged
Instead I propose funding a DeFi wallet with a small amount of money ($100 is fine) and FAFO

I keep wanting to give this guy the benefit of the doubt but he keeps saying stuff which demonstrates absolutely terrible judgement and complete ignorance of the basics of the job that he’s trying to hire people to do.
If I tried to run an off-the-books PA account to build a track record, and was found out —
1. Not only would I lose my job but I wouldn’t be able to get another job in the industry. Just completely idiotic behaviour.
2. If I took my $50k PA track record and tried to get a job off the back of it, any reputable firm would correctly laugh me out of the room. Massive difference between running a five figure PA and an institutional book.
So essentially the idea would be to buy a code or get one from a friend/rando; then continuously refer alts and sell the remaining codes to others who need them.
Random trade idea that probably won’t last long: OpenAI just dropped Sora 2, their new video generation model. Right now it’s invite only, but once you’re in they give you a couple codes to give away.
