Daunte Wright’s killing was not a random, disconnected “accident” - it was the repeated outcome of an indefensible system that grants impunity for state violence, rewards it w/ endlessly growing budgets at the cost of community investment, & targets those who question that order.
Failure to achieve vaccination equity would not only compound the suffering in communities of color—failure would also delay or even derail containment of the virus across the country, which could hinder a safe return to normal life for everyone.

I'll admit that I kind of lost track of this, but I was genuinely surprised to learn in the last few days that Americans can just fly to Mexico and then fly right back with no mandatory quarantine in the midst of a once-in-a-century global pandemic.
The filibuster was popularized in the Jim Crow era by Southerners who wanted to prevent the Northern majority from passing legislation in favor of civil rights for Black citizens.
Abolish it.
