NEWS: Hampton junior Jalyke Gaines-Wyatt is entering the transfer portal, he told @LeagueRDY.
The 6-foot guard out of Wyandanch, New York played just one season at Hampton. Began his career at Alcorn State.
He averaged 11.2PPG, 3.0APG and 1.4RPG this season.
Fun news and exposure for the CAA: Hampton and North Carolina A&T will compete in the 2026 NBA HBCU Classic, part of the league’s All-Star weekend in Los Angeles.
The two programs will square off in a CAA conference game on the West Coast. Date and tip-off time to be determined.
2027 point guard Kye Gray delivered a composed and impactful performance for Coolidge at DC Live, standing out in competitive matchups against Jackson Reed and Archbishop Carroll. Offensively, he played with pace and control, using his handle and change of direction to consistently get into the paint and create scoring opportunities. Once he touched the lane, he was tough at the rim, finishing through contact, kicking out to open shooters, or dropping it off to his teammates in position to score. He also showed the ability to knock down mid-range jumpers and three-pointers, making defenders respect his scoring threat.
On the defensive end, Gray brought effort and focus. He stayed in front of his man, applied ball pressure, and disrupted plays with active hands and awareness. Whether pushing the tempo in transition, managing the halfcourt offense, or helping generate stops, Gray’s decision-making, scoring, and defensive energy helped Coolidge stay competitive in both games.

THE BACK to BACK DCIAA Player of the Year…
Two high level talents in his league make 2nd Team All-Met…
The Player of the Year makes 4th Team 🤦🏾♂️…
Make that make sense…
4th Team All-Met is an accomplishment, but disrespectful on so many levels!
So we’ll end the HS career with MVP in a game with a lot of the folks your POST put ahead of him!
I might be done with basketball in DC… pure disrespect !
