I hope this isn't too much of a cop-out answer, but this depends on you, and your personal interests and whether you think you can draw a range of different fanarts without burning your self out!
If there's a specific niche that you really like, there's nothing wrong if that's what you can be more consistent with!
There's no point trying to hit every fandom if you're not enjoying the process! 🐀❤️

Probably not the best, but some advice is about the OC vs Fanart struggle I see artists have.

People like fanart more because there's an established lore and history around that character! Not because people inherently dislike OC's!

Narrative drives interest, you can do that with OC's too, but you need to put in the work to make their world and character something people can invest into, massive bonus points if that character is relatable!
