Larsson was a journalist who studied the far right in Sweden. And he was particularly worried about the normalization of extremism. My theory is that the Millennium trilogy was his attempt to get EVERYONE to worry about it - a decade before the rise of Trump.

@michaelluo The medical "controversy" Sulzberger was talking about is between the 67,000 members of the American Academy of Pediatrics following all the science and best practices and "dozens" of conservative dissenters, who encourage the practice of conversion therapy, based on nothing.
