Growing up with white children, I learned quick that they enjoyed putting me in dangerous situations and enjoyed watching me survive them. They enjoyed danger for themselves too, but would protect each other. No one protect me. White children understand that the adults around them will give them ample grace; black children have to be VERY careful when being raised alongside white children. There are a lot of white adults that did something they shouldn't have, sometimes, at the expense of another marginalized person & they're taking that secret to the grave.
