Over the coming weeks we’ll be working closely with @ucu to ensure that PGR concerns around casualisation and the impact of the pandemic are built into the start of their PGRs as Staff campaign 1/3
🚨Today we are releasing our comprehensive report on pandemic support for PGRs🚨
Falling Short is an authoritative account of the precarious position of PGRs within the HE sector and the failings of @UKRI_News and HEIs’ COVID-19 support policies.

This is just embarrassing. If @UKRI_News staff and researchers care about struggling parents in the pandemic then they would do well to sign the open letter from parents and carers asking @UKRI_News for support
Nominations close for our Postgraduate Research Rep (HSS) position tomorrow at 12pm. The elected Rep shall seek feedback from and represent PGR students in HSS. This role is for the remainder of the 2020-21 academic year. Nominate now at https://t.co/U0GIJiuRde @QMUL_DC@QMUL

This will help @PandemicPGRs to meaningfully look at inequalities between PGRs:

Our organising efforts are led by a radical idea of listening to evidence
We're supporting research by @GoldstoneRoss which will allow us to meaningfully look at inequalities between PGRs

We’re asking who in @UKRI_News and their various research councils actually supports @ProfRoryDuncan’s policy decision? 🧐
Their letter to him would suggest that it’s certainly not the undermined @GW4BioMedDTP management board 😬
Good work @The_MRC PGRs!
This is a direct reference to something I said in @PandemicPGRs meeting with @UKRI_News - that authors of the letter on behalf of disabled PGRs declined to meet because they did not want the meeting to be the only action UKRI took.
Guess what happened?
This is far from perfect. Problems remain. But I am pleased to see government have finally listened. They’ve instructed that any return to campus in 2021 must be staggered, that teaching must remain online til at least February 8th, & that there will be mass testing upon arrival.
We urge you to make yourself aware. To speak up. To campaign, to be activists. The time to change the world for the better is now. The issue shouldn’t be reduced to the fact that they are criminals. There are wider more dangerous implications.
