We’re deeply concerned by the continued unlawful detention, for 7 days now, of a suspect by the @PoliceUg in Fort Portal on allegations of ‘attempted homosexuality’ under the Anti-Homosexuality Act, 2023 - despite being a victim of mob violence during arrest. @ODPPUGANDA 1/2
Yesterday we again supported some LGBTQ members in Kyenjojo western Uganda with food relief, held a security training & gave out emergency guides & did some onsite counselling. Thanks @queereNothilfe & @yesWEAID plus all other people who have continued to make our work possible.
What an evening! Thank you so much the Pepsi Boston Bar, Schwuz and all the amazing artists who performed in solidarity with the queer people in Uganda. Enjoy a bit of the sounds.@queereNothilfe@yesWEAID@QueerBerlin @Aidshilfe_de @lsvd

Update on Court Petitions against the Anti-Homosexuality Act
A thread 🧵
In October, the Constitutional Court in Kampala commenced the conferencing sessions for the three petitions challenging the Anti-Homosexuality Act, 2023.

Chapter 4 article 20 of Uganda's constitution states it clearly that Fundamental rights and freedoms of an individual are inherent and not granted by the State. But Uganda government dictates who exists and who doesn't. Am a Homosexual Human being and I deserve my rights.
International pressure & petitions challenging the Anti-Homosexuality Act are key to its repeal. Our first victory: LWU & activists added as co-petitioners.We protested in Berlin, calling for defunding Uganda until AHA is repealed.Stand in solidarity&support.Together,we will win!
