This episode goes deep on power dynamics & how queer women are capable of being abusive & awful, & why it matters that we talk about this.

Cinema trip! This weekend the #QGFC crew went to an actual real life cinema (complete with fellow audience members, including Guy Checking The Football Scores On His Phone As The Film Was Starting) to see Cate Blanchett going hell-for-leather for Oscar #3 in Tár (2022).
On top of Cate’s exquisite performance, it’s about bad ppl, uncomfortable topics & ambiguity.
Join us as we discuss how to enjoy this film despite knowing shit-all about classical music, if it’s really a horror film in denial, & why nervous breakdowns are better with accordions.
Some female gays talking about the female gaze. It's Portrait Of A Lady On Fire (2019) this weekb on #QGFC. The gang share the many reasons they love this film, touching on light, consent, armpit drugs & looking after your straight mates when they get into scrapes.
When a film can be two hours long, French and contain loads of staring, and still be something Alice loves, how can it not be a classique? Whether its musing on the impermanence of joy or lusting after Adèle Haenel, Holly, Alice and Georgia are ending season 3 on a massive high.
Along the way we learn that Holly was data gathering at school discos, react to the obligatory mean girl character, Georgia invented a new verb and we find out a little more about why exactly Alice left teaching.

You can’t spell Loving Annabelle (2006) without PROBLEMATIC. Ok, technically you can, but here at Queer Girl Film Club we do not advise this. Instead, settle down class, it’s time to hear #QGFC give you a lesson in what not to do in a lesbian film.
Join us as we work out the family dynamics of the pod crew, try not to rub chillis into our eyes (and elsewhere), and praise one of the more accurate Gay Best Friends in cinema! #QGFC
Don’t listen on an empty stomach! This week #QGFC are talking Nina’s Heavenly Delights (2006), a film which packs in enough plots for several films, but apparently didn’t pack in enough budget for one.
Out now in all the usual pod places! See our bio for links.
