Push for better internet and data/digital rights!
While technology can improve different aspects of our lives, we also recognize that technology is political—whoever owns the technologies determines whose interests it primarily serves.
Support research and development!
R&D is critical for human development and well-being. However, there is low R&D intensity in the Philippines. We spend only 0.16% of its GDP in R&D, way below the global average and the recommended at least 1% for developing countries.
Improve public health access and sustenance!
The COVID-19 pandemic has worsened the state of public health and put a strain on the healthcare system. It also further exposed the weaknesses in our system, and health's interrelation with other key issues in the S&T sector.
Address the biodiversity and climate crises!
There is a need to recognize environmental crises as development issues and to enshrine environmental justice as a central and overarching principle in future development, policy, and governance.
Protect the rights and welfare of STE professionals!
Non-standard forms of employment (temporary, part-time), prevalent in government & academic R&D institutions:

👩🔬may lead to work-life balance issues, occupational risks
Enhance science and technology (S&T) education and training, and science communication!
