The call to ban books in #school & public #libraries in Canada is louder. Most books contain content on sex & the body, 2SLGBTQI+ issues & racism. Shadowbanning is a new tactic & harder to fight than an outright #book ban. #library#FreedomToRead https://t.co/6vtwc87TeC
Digital spaces enable LGBTQ+ people to engage with their gender and sexual orientation, but it can be daunting to give up any kind of privacy online while doing so. Here's a guide to protecting your identities online, from using a VPN to obscuring faces.

hey @ALALibrary I'd love to use your form letter for Congress but it's forcing me to choose a prefix and I don't use one! Also, this is for the LGBTQ+ community and you don't have a gender neutral option for people who do. Seems pretty silly not to include.

“It’s really hard to be closeted. It’s really hard to come out. It’s really hard to be the only LGBT person in your community. We’ve heard from librarians how it’s the first time [students] can dive into someone else’s story and see themselves.” https://t.co/QJPSZWGcB6

The 10-page @ifla "briefing paper" supporting its decision to host WLIC24 in Dubai was ... a lot, but my "no" vote pretty much locked in on "Legally IFLA cannot have a session, satellite meeting, business meeting labelled LGBTQ+ on the programme" (1/3)
🧵 My latest for @harpersbazaarus: As public schools, colleges, libraries, & statehouses come under attack for simply acknowledging the existence of queer people, independent LGBTQ archives are more critical than ever - and yet... https://t.co/hjSbwsWJEo
This statement is so unacceptable in so many ways it’s mind boggling. A thread. First of all, to release this news during Pride Month and say what is tantamount to “we know you’ll be unsafe but deal” is horrifically offensive. And to say it in such a circuitous way is cowardly.
