It's never about competing. It's about being clear about what you believe in and shaping the product, along with users, toward that ideal.

AdaL, as the coding agent I have imagined, comes with simplicity, elegance, and the joy of working. This means that while the whole industry is going after feature after feature, led by Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex, the group Pi and AdaL stand out differently. While Pi itself takes “simple” to the extreme, the philosophy that guides AdaL is “effortless”: something that just works great.

We might have gone the wrong way earlier, like cloning features in Claude Code. Later, we found that many of them were bloated, with barely any users actually using them.

Our team has automated our issues and PRs. Other than plan confirmation, the agent is capable of implementing, testing, and creating PRs with all the proof.

It's not because of “advanced” coding agents like Claude Code. It's because of how we built up our E2E testing and set up team skills so that the agent always knows what to do in each case.

A tool is a tool, but skill and knowledge are the gap AdaL wants to close. AdaL stands more like a real human engineer. This is what differentiates us from all the coding agents out there.

It's not simple. It's just focused on going straight for the “kill” / “delivery.”

AdaL is going to have a big update with AdaL 2.0. I'm going to onboard 100 users myself. The goal is not to sell it to you, the goal is to be your therapist at your current troubles, introduce you what we can solve, and let you challenge us.
