@Lizzy_Lang7 @Zandri_vdm @Lesufi@lethabomoepya@TharinaVanVoll1 Yes I don't have a problem with people learning in their language but using a language understood but most to communicate is not considerate. Your doc is considerate not like the other douches I've met.
@willsworldview @Lizzy_Lang7 @Zandri_vdm @Lesufi@lethabomoepya@TharinaVanVoll1 Personally I don't have a problem with people using their home language I learned Afrikaans. My problem is using your home language Zulu, Xhosa, Afrikaans in professional settings when you know that not everyone understands it. Now we're using English to communicate better.
@Lizzy_Lang7 @Zandri_vdm @Lesufi@lethabomoepya@TharinaVanVoll1 I'm talking about what is happening out there and I have personally witnessed a few times. I'm not talking about hypothetical situations
@Lizzy_Lang7 @Zandri_vdm @Lesufi@lethabomoepya@TharinaVanVoll1 I'm not talking about a prescription I'm talking about patient progress notes and interventions carried out.
The hospital has professionals from other countries who have never seen afrikaans in their lives.
@Lizzy_Lang7 @Zandri_vdm @Lesufi@lethabomoepya@TharinaVanVoll1 I'm not saying they can't do their jobs I'm talking about the arrogance of writing in a language you know only a few use in your work environment.
@TharinaVanVoll1 @Zandri_vdm @Lesufi@lethabomoepya There was a lecturer in Tuks who was trying to use Sepedi to lecture, even had question papers translated. Lol he had a good heart but that exercise was futile even native Sepedi speakers were confused about the wordings. We don't have enough academics to cover all langs
@Lizzy_Lang7 @Zandri_vdm @Lesufi@lethabomoepya@TharinaVanVoll1 Problem is how many academics do we have in S.A - we can build as many varsities we want but who'll lecture there?
@The_Njoko@African_Spring@reinhar777@Zwelinzima1 They tramppled human rights for their own benefit but that's not a big thing. The current administration is shit but not as cruel as the last. I prefer human dignity over money
