It’s fun that someone made this but the appeal of Mother as a modern day player actually comes from how archaic its mechanics and graphics are. You’re kind of expecting the story to be equally out of touch. Everytime something touching or hilarious happens it feels miraculous.
MOTHER (NES) has been completely remade in 16-bit using EarthBound's engine! 🤯
This incredible project was 19 years in the making, faithfully recreating the entire game with EB-style visuals while preserving the original adventure.

Some cities just feel huge. New York does not feel big to me. Beijing feels enormous. So does London. Shanghai and Tokyo definitely feel bigger than New York (and are), but smaller than Beijing and London. For some reason Barcelona also seems bigger than New York in my mind.
Crusher Makochan (クラッシャーマコちゃん) is an obscure game by CAVE on the 68000 hardware. This game is wacky and is hard to believe as the developers were mainly known for producing the best shmups in the business.
despite the kind of cynical framing of The Testament of Ann Lee, I think the music and actor performances made it one of the most beautiful and sincere movies I’ve seen. it has every flaw you expect from a biopic, but thats ironically what lets it wash over you
@notsotemmie each dark world has allegorical passages where it covertly retells or foreshadows something else e.g. Chapter 1 has getting lost in the forest. I think these guys are about infiltrating the Holiday House. Maybe anticipating chapter 4 Light World stuff, but it could go deeper
@Cuneyt_S_Sevi It’s interesting how this also foreshadows the weird route if you imagine Noelle is talking about the angel/us instead of Susie. Both Susie and the soul have a special kind of free will, and Alphys can also be a symbol for Gaster given their relationship.
