Mostly just motivation and money
The will to want to be at the top level has to completely outweigh the potential negative impacts of spending the money to get to the 4-5 majors you need to get to be ranked
Remove the money and motivation is much easier to find
Melee players who have been playing for a long time but have never been ranked:
When is it time to say "Damn I feel like there's no way I can get any better?" Or, alternatively, how do you keep finding ways to get better?
Some of y'all are not human with your improvement rates. I simply can't explain how people who have been playing half as long as me get to top 50 in like 3 years lol. Ppl getting 65th at their first major is wild to me. I also feel like I lose to the same top 100 players I've always been losing to, even if I take them closer now.
I can see clear improvement from the past month but I'm still just a "solid" player, not close to being ranked but definitely considered a "decent win." What is so different?
