Unpopular take
78 degrees is perfectly fine for a house.

Especially when it’s 98 degrees outside. There’s a 20 degree rule that your a/c can lower the ambient temp that far without running continuously under strain.

This has nothing to do w/ Commie Mamdani it’s HVAC common sense. If you want to pay to cool it lower and set yourself up for repairs by stressing your system. Feel free, well except for the cost.

I’m a whiny climate controlled softy these days. I did my suffering in the brutal heat for many years. I do 68 in the winter and 77/78 in the Summer . YMMV
