Gao Shu (Senior Vice President of Sootoo Networks) have applauded #WangYibo’s charity works through the years and how he has always been silent about it.
“Nowadays, many public welfare activities are announced very fast. Of course, the willingness to donate money is commendable in itself, but people like Wang Yibo are truly a different story. It’s not that he doesn’t do it: he just doesn’t quite talk about it. Whether someone has truly done something or not, ultimately, we must look at the facts.”
After the Han Hong Foundation’s 2025 annual report was released, one piece of information attracted much attention. People noticed: Wang Yibo personally donated ¥2 million. He is among the top donors.
This is not a data chart made by fans. It wasn’t a promotional article released by his team. It was not a news story put together on the spot.
This is the foundation’s annual financial disclosure. After auditing, the information was made public in accordance with regulations.
This isn’t the first time Wang Yibo’s charitable work has come to light.
2020:
He made a donation to Wuhan through the Han Hong Foundation. Later, he participated in the donation effort as a one of the Day Day Up brothers and purchased protective gear. Supplies such as protective clothing and N95 masks were sent to the front lines. At that time, many people were still observing the situation, but Wang Yibo has already donated his money and purchased supplies.
2021:
During the 2021 Henan floods, Wang Yibo went to Zhengzhou with Han Hong’s team. He didn’t just repost and wished people well. For three days and two nights, he participated in the frontline rescue efforts (i.e., carrying supplies, escorting disaster victims, running along with the rescue team). More importantly, he didn’t post anything about it. There is no “I’m on the scene” pose.
Later, when the Han Hong Foundation's report from that year was released, everyone saw: Wang Yibo personally donated ¥3.3 million.
During that period, he was actually criticized by many people because he did not make a public statement. As a result, once the reports were made public, many people discovered: The person who was criticized for ‘doing nothing’ actually donated the largest amount.
Han Hong later wrote about him on Weibo: “He was very brave, working quietly and wiping away his tears silently. His heart was warm, and he touched me.”
This statement still carries considerable weight even today.
2025:
In early 2025, the Shigatse earthquake struck Tibet. The Han Hong Foundation has released a list of joint donors. Wang Yibo and 27 artists jointly donated ¥5.74 million to provide targeted aid to disaster-stricken areas.
He himself has not said anything about this matter. He didn’t turn his charity work into a personal publicity opportunity.
Then came this annual report. Another ¥2 million. This is not a coincidence. He always does the same thing: ‘Get things done first’.
What’s even more commendable is that his charitable work goes beyond simply donating to disaster relief efforts.
Child care and educational assistance:
He participated in children’s health and orphan care initiatives. He sponsored scholarship for students, build classrooms, laboratories, and libraries.
Environmental protection and animal protection:
From serving as a WildAid ambassador to launching an initiative to reduce single-use plastics, and participating in the pangolin conservation documentary “Defenders of the Hidden”. His long-term commitment goes far beyond simply issuing a slogan.
Climate Action:
From COP29 to COP30, from youth initiatives to activities related to the China Pavilion. He used his influence as a public figure on longer-term and more public issues.
So, when you look back at this personal donation of ¥2 million, it isn’t an isolated figure. It’s more like the latest entry in a series.
This is no longer doing a good deed occasionally, but rather a long-term, stable choice of an individual.
