Happy #PortfolioDay ! I`m Anastasiya, 3D Environment artist. I like vivid and colorful environment art, that can tell immersive stories. Also big fan of making materials in Substance Designer 👋 ▶️https://t.co/FtyjbWi736
trying to do this in our game too 👀
it's mostly about getting a handle on readability, contrast, characterfull diffuse textures and rather dim lighting so specular highlights are not overblown.
@Speed3DP Thank you, Sergei! They were sure fun, but sometimes felt like I missed some important steps in my env. learning process trying to make art based on my own ideas\concept and focusing too much on that than focusing more on 3d\tech side of things.never too late to fix that though😅
very much true, smth I've felt myself. Burned out and having no ideas currently. Trying to go with smaller tasks / not to overscope personal projects. 🥲
One not nice truth about the environment art -
if you want to progress faster , use concept art or photo as a base. Design is hard, it requires mental power. It is fun to work on your ideas, but you will be progressing in the env field much slower and likely will burn out
Artists, you can only use ONE image to convince people to follow you, which one would you use?
