@dee_of_e A lot of incredible TV wasn't listed in favour of some more well-known stuff.
Prestige TV hasn't been around for that long; the list is for TV this century, and a single season of each show can run 4-22 hours, which is a lot of time to sustain excellence across every department.
@AlfredoFilmGeek "Oz Cobb" "Edward Nashton"
I adore the movie for exactly what it is. But it's not exactly wearing its comic book source material on its sleeve in the same way Superman is. The tone and visual style could work with a connected universe, but the realism could not.
@Knightly_Hist The show was pretty good until s8... People are just rewriting history and changing opinions because s8 sucked.
The last amazing season was s4, but s5 was alright, s6 was great, s7 was hype moments and aura with some very mixed writing but it only fully dropped the ball at s8 IMO
@lePooch986@moviehubnow Except ticket prices haven't increased at the same rate, which makes me question how NWH sold that many more tickets than BND, despite BND making more domestically with ticket prices still roughly around the same price as in 2021. There's no public data available on tickets sold.
@SportsFab_@gmutd007@moviehubnow Coming off the hype of a movie from 5 years ago? The marketing for this movie didn't even tie it to NWH. People just really wanted to see Spider-Man again in general.
@JoshbyGawsh@gmutd007@moviehubnow Probably less given that far fewer people go to the movies since the pandemic, and many people would rather wait 45 days and watch a movie at home, not to mention all of the options on streaming, plus a ticket costs more now, etc.
@gmutd007@moviehubnow If that exact film came out today I doubt it would do those numbers. Movies pre-streaming and pre-pandemic had a lot less competition, and a lot less hurdles to cross in order for people to see them.
@Etanibrut@moviehubnow It’s more crazy that Brand New Day was able to achieve that today, given that fewer people go to the movies, the tickets are so expensive, people can just watch streaming services or go on social media, etc.
@spencergiblin@Targ_Loyalist I want interesting character development and story twists. They can take their time with drama that's this compelling. Plus I feel like a lot is happening every episode; it's just that the story is so grand and epic with so many characters that there's a lot to accomplish.
