Fear of aggressive male offenders isn’t the main reason women need women only spaces.
In 2015 a survey of ~70 college men asked if they would force sex on a woman if no one would find out.
~30% said they would.
When the word rape was used in the question that dropped to ~10%. 1/6
@Serena_Partrick Waiting for questionnaires with:
Sex (choose one, both, or use ‘other’ to write in something sane or stupid)
- non-male
- non-female
- other: ___________
@anypigslft2 In some episodes it’s amazing what they milk for suspense. What are his hands doing? Interesting stuff that you’ll just have to imagine for 10 minutes.
Dear @billprady I am not anti-trans. I am pro-women. Where there are no conflicting rights I 100% support trans rights. It's not ok for trans women to enter women's spaces & sports. If you are a post-puberty MTF trans it is not fair to compete against women. Don't you agree?
@Serena_Partrick That many men over all that time and no one reported it.
Unsurprising, but this story would suggest its incredibly easy to find men who will rape a woman if they don't think they'll get caught.
Horrifying.
