Christian maturity is downward. It is growing not less aware of your unworthiness, but more.
Contemporary people examine the Bible, looking for things they can’t accept.

Personally, I think it is good we have no idea what the what Paul's "thorn in the flesh" actually was. Otherwise, we might be tempted to limit which situations situations God's grace is sufficient unto.
Reminds me of The Slave Bible that was altered to remove all instances of freedom to give the enslaved religion but keep them in bondage.

If you haven’t been to church in months and you lack motivation to return, that’s understandable. Your gathering muscles have atrophied. Just don’t wait until you *feel* like returning before you do. Your heart is not your king.
Get your body there, and your heart will catch up.
I hate that Justice comes as a huge sigh of relief. I hate that she comes as an uncertain, tense, exhale that wasn't guaranteed.
But I am glad she comes.
