I am a Christian devotion/meditation writer. My husband and I will observe our 50th wedding anniversary in November. Our grown son lives 100 miles south of us.
Trusting God is easy to say but rarely as easy to do. Still, God gives us plenty of reason to put our faith in Him. In fact, His very nature screams 'trust me!' https://t.co/L5mbcOgUwE via @JulieSunne1
@GovMikeHuckabee@MailOnline Can Stephen Colbert live on what those of us draw from Social Security? I think not. Those single mothers may have to work two jobs in order to keep food on the table. He should get out of his office and see how the other half lives.
We can't earn peace, joy, and security, nor can we find it in ourselves or our surroundings. But we can receive it, even in our most difficult seasons. #looktoJesus https://t.co/Wf0uT5gALu via @JulieSunne1
It's in giving God our first and best, our all, that we demonstrate our faith, that we say, I trust you, Lord. We worship purely and walk rightly when we lay down those things we highly esteem. https://t.co/w9ds6Rq5aD via @JulieSunne1
Nothing good comes out of holding anything in our lives too tightly, even our loved ones. When we are willing to give to God freely and completely, we are worshipping Him fully and purely. https://t.co/w9ds6Rq5aD via @JulieSunne1
Too often, instead of giving the Lord our first and our best, we give Him what's left. The Lord is a jealous God: He wants our undivided devotion, a devotion that gives Him our first, our best, our all. https://t.co/w9ds6Rq5aD via @JulieSunne1
Life throws hard stuff our way, but when we look at the battles of life believing and trusting that God has already won the victory, we can face our fears and be brave too, taking that next step forward in faith. #forwardinfaith https://t.co/kzUr4TMP0s via @JulieSunne1
Being brave isn't the absence of fear; it's moving forward, trusting God despite the fear. Fear may pursue us, but faith drives us forward, one step at a time. #spotlightonfaith https://t.co/kzUr4TMP0s via @JulieSunne1
By faith, we trust God to be what we are not, to do what we cannot, to provide what we have not. He promises, and He fulfills His promises ... always. We believe, even when we cannot see. https://t.co/4h8FaR6UK6 via @JulieSunne1
Trusting God to do great work in our great challenges takes time and a continual surrendering of what we see and know. https://t.co/4h8FaR6UK6 via @JulieSunne1
When we're asked to trust God during a challenging and upheaved season of life, we must make a conscious effort to park our faith in the supernatural over the natural. To believe what the Lord has promised. To acknowledge our inability… https://t.co/4h8FaR6UK6 via @JulieSunne1
God uses our strengths, but just as effectively, He uses our weaknesses. And trusting Him in our weakness is living out our faith in its truest form. It's saying we believe, even when things don't look so promising. https://t.co/4h8FaR6UK6 via @JulieSunne1
God's the One who has the power, the wisdom, the understanding to conquer all. And He works in our weakness. He promises to be our strength when we have none left. https://t.co/e0NOX7ylb1 via @JulieSunne1
I hate admitting when I'm weak. But what if our weaknesses display God's strength? Shouldn't we use those opportunities to point others to Him? https://t.co/e0NOX7ylb1 via @JulieSunne1
Good news for parents this morning. For the first time, we have vaccine data for children age 5-11. It is early and still needs to be peer-reviewed, but looks good. "Safe” and a “robust” antibody response." And, this age group makes up ~9% of the population. @Pfizer
Making space for God boils down to making a conscience effort to be alone and undistracted with Him. Don't make the mistake of filling it with things that seem good but will rob you of connecting deeply with Him. https://t.co/bDKDxUKvNu via @JulieSunne1
Everyone can and should be intentional to get out of their own way, to make space to grow an intimate relationship with God. https://t.co/bDKDxUKvNu via @JulieSunne1
It's important to keep our minds active and engaged. But having something always occupying our thoughts leaves little bandwidth to register God's messages. https://t.co/bDKDxUKvNu via @JulieSunne1
When it comes to connecting with God, even good things can be obstacles. We have to get out of our own way and make space to cultivate our relationship with the Lord. https://t.co/bDKDxUKvNu via @JulieSunne1
