It took years for me & my teammates, coaches, & predecessors to build the @KCRoosAthletics Track/XC teams into programs competitive at a high level. It took only moments for that to be wiped clean under the pretext of Covid-19. Stunning lack of leadership & accountability here.

UMKC will suspend operations for golf, cross country and track & field beginning Nov. 1 due to the financial implications of Covid 19. Student athletes affected will retain their scholarships. The school would like to reestablish the sports in the future.

Very disappointed by this news today. As an Olympian, American Record Holder, World Championship Silver Medalist, none of this would have been possible without the opportunity I was given to compete at the D1 level @UMKC it saddens me to think others may not have the same chance.
