When I was in college, "law and order" Governor Ronald Reagan said: βIf it takes a bloodbath to silence demonstrators, letβs get it over with. No more appeasement.β
Let that sink in. He was advocating killing college students.
Fifty years on that's still the GOP modus operandi.
@SecScottBessent@usmint Are you daft? A scofflaw?
Paper Money: An 1866 law specifically bans the likeness of any living person from appearing on paper currency.
Coins: The Presidential $1 Coin Program Act of 2007 restricts living presidents from being featured on circulating dollar coins.
@historyinmemes I grew up in a house that was built in 1929. It absolutely had one of those, and I always wondered as a child if the razor blades stacked up neatly or were all helter skelter inside the wall. π
@RossKneeDeep Excellent series! Iβll never forgive them killing Mike though. π
(Of course had the chance to enjoy the character further in Better Call Saul.)
@EmmaScott@tatertotsconor Whatβs wild is her assumption folks replying to her racist rant werenβt Anglo or were beneath her socio-economically.
Honestly, my first thought on reading her initial post was βWhat trailer park yβall from?β
She just needs people to look down on so she can feel βspecial.β
@dalepartridge Let me say this loudly for those in the back: competence is not a gendered trait.
Itβs also not tied to sexual orientation.
A captain being female does not mean sheβs a βDEI hire.β It means she passed all of the requirements and was hired on merit.
Donβt be such a snowflake.
@dalepartridge You left out the one I would have selected:
>> Competent
Competence is not a gendered trait. If a pilot is qualified, whining about DEI doesnβt make the pilot less qualified.
Airlines shouldnβt cater to latent sexism.
@Zoya_ki_batein My guess is the school uniform for girls mandates skirts. That was certainly true of the dress code in the dark ages when I went to high school.
If there must be a uniform, why not give girls the option to wear pants? That way, male staff wonβt be troubled by adolescent legs.
@StrengthNPurpos@TimelessTrvlr Just a thought about that: as you get older, travel often becomes more difficult. Long-haul flights become more trying, physical agility often wanes. You may want to consider front-loading your long range βadventure travelβ rather than wait.
