@RockStreamYT This is so funny you say this because me and my friends for ages have joked that MGS was just KH with guns lmao.
But yeah, KH is so interesting in the ways we do and don't know things and the way it opens up for us to theorize and in turn look back at past entries deeper
Kingdom Hearts, in all its convoluted glory, is actually the *real* media literacy test lmao. Because yeah, a lot of the "retcons" are things that are hinted at if you pay attention. And yeah, unreliable narrator is literally the perfect way to explain a LOT of this shit lmao
The whole thread just kinda sounds like hating tbh, and i apologize if my tone comes off as aggressive and if this wasnt your point to be a hater, but like I feel as if you just viewing Blerdness in one particular lens due to your own experiences.
As a blerd can I be real with you? All you really doing is doing the same scrutinizing and judging that people did to us when we were younger. You have an *idea* of what a blerd looks like and that idea has been shattered because, gasp, we as black people are multi-faceted.
Dreamcon has so many people that aren't real blerds there. I am a blerd and was bullied for being it. Now ever since COVID happened, everyone is a blerd now? Mind you, before I get into this, I am not a coon and dreamcon is a very good thing and I'm glad it exists.
And like lets not forget about the people who had to hide their interests and now feel much more comfortable to be open about them. Let's not forget that just because we're blerds we cant enjoy or be into other things too and blend the things together.
@KuwaCos It's complex in the way that there's just a lot of lore to keep up with, but it's far from the most complicated thing in existence lol. The fact that we are able to have all of this lore that expands on the greater picture is a good thing IMO
Realizing it after, is still showing literacy because you are going through the information and now having that "Oh wow, that actually makes more sense now." It is recognizing something you may have missed. So yes, it's still a literacy test lmao.
Sure, I'll bite. KH2, whether in retrospect or not, gives you so many hints it's not even funny. Roxas's anger, Axel's hurt and yearning to see his friend again, Xaldin's obsession with Beast, etc. Days just further puts it in your face.
The literacy test being that a lot of those hints yall talk about were made or added in AFTER we were given contradictory information the previous game. KH2 never hints at anything we are told about Nobodies MIGHT be a lie, that happens in Days.
@ReddoDeado And I honestly I would argue that the sheer fact that Namine can manipulate hearts and therefore memories is our earliest clue that hearts have more properties to them than we initially thought.
@risknext KH is a *LOT* to digest. especially at once, but one of its biggest strengths is when you have the "Wait so is that why...OH!!!" when it comes to certain plot points. It's not that confusing lol, people dont realize this is a series with over ten entries so yeah the lore is dense
@tapioca_bubbles I always felt that if a heart and by extension memories can be tampered with, it wasn't a crazy idea that a heart could grow back. If anything that idea makes KH2 and Days even more heavy as stories, recontextualizing the Org members and their actions.
@Kristin_Glenn14 YES! And i think it does a great job giving both Sora and Riku agency within the plot, and I am VERY curious as to how they both develop further in KH4. God this is why I love talking about this series, there's so many layers and things to unpack and talk about
@Kristin_Glenn14 He very much is! And I think sometimes we dont think about it cause of all of the other batshit insane things going on and Riku also being there having his own development.
@Kristin_Glenn14 You know what, yeah, yeah he does! Sora is much smarter and much more complex of a charcater than I think we really give him credit for.
Holy fuck, where did yall come from lmaaaaaaaaooooo, I'm not used to any of my tweets having this much visibility! So uh....hi! I'm going to the store, yall want anything? Lmao.
@Kristin_Glenn14 Bingo. The unreliable narrator thing for me is when people believed the villians who were obviously leading us to what THEY wanted to do. The whole "But Xemnas lied about-!" YES, yes he did, and the Org members SHOWED us and actively made us question the what Xemnas told us.
@Blacmagiccat It's convoluted in the way that the overacting story is complex and that *every* entry matters lore wise. Not convoluted in a *bad* way but in the literal it's just a LOT and with that comes complexity
But yes! Paying attention and playing in release order is by far the best way
The fun thing about being a KH fan is that whenever you think Nomura pulled something out of his ass, you find out he had the idea for said thing AGES ago. Granted I still think he made up some stuff as he went along but man this foreshadowing is NUTS.
