@whitewall618431 Was there. Spot on in using the word ‘numb’. Hardly a word on the tube afterwards. Literally all the air had came out the balloon. 2-0 up and cruising too.
A ray of sunshine in an otherwise depressing season. Was listening to Sport on 2 with their commentary on some other game. Crossed over to reporter Peter Lorenzo for updates. 1-3 - a consolation goal. 2-3 - making a game of it. 3-3 fantastic- what a comeback! 4-3 absolutely incredible. His voice getting increasingly frantic each time they went to him. It’s a memory I’ll never forget 😊❤️⚽️
They were massive in the UK & Europe in the 70s. They were kept off US airwaves and received next to nothing in terms of promotion. ZZ Top & Aerosmith sacked them as their support acts because the audience likes them better. It’s only really in the last 5 years that US musical critics are discovering their catalogue - particularly the stuff from 72-77
Well said. No clue who puts these lists together - probably some geek who looks a clone of Woody Allen. Quo albums from Piledriver through to Blue for You generated so many fans that they became labelled the ‘Quo Army’. Probably as they were so successful they were no longer in vogue. A real British thing - Steve Davis went through it and now Luke Littler too
@tim_rolls We don’t have enough defenders who enjoy and think like defenders. Put players like Cahill and Ivamovic and Dave in the team instead of Fofana, Colwill and I think we’d be ok especially on tough away games. Can we find players like these though?
@def_leppar20044 Status Quo (the Frantic Four) Couldn’t get any sort of semi decent promotion in the US in the 70s so thought why bother, given how huge they were everywhere else.
I think Derek lived quite close to both me (although I didn’t know him) and @ockerschitchat who I hew up with and was also heavily involved with Morecambe FC. Favourite game I went to was with SOC - a 4-2 win at Christie Park in the mid 70s having been 2-0 down at ht RIP Sean ❤️⚽️
@1968Tv@eddiemacbawa Was in The Shed. We probably should’ve won this game but with Wednesday drawing and Newcastle losing the loss wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been. We took our frustration out on Swansea 3 days later winning 6-1. Loved this season
