@SammieSaliu For all the good work done, he can tend to want to come across as knowing more than he actually knows. Many of us fall into that error too.
We don't have to have an opinion about everything and certainly not in matters we know little about using words we don't fully understand.
@GroveRKifasi I think in the "culture" of Christ Embassy, lying is not lying. It is proclaiming by faith. Because every year they release figures on many different aspects of their church broadcasts & and outreaches that is flat VERIFIABLY false but then some of the members parrot it.
@SammieSaliu The key there is "mainline". Mainline churches are mostly high church & do follow them. But we're 500 years on & after many splits from "mainlinism" it is not a surprise that some low church protestants may not follow them. Besides the quote still doesn't make it "COMPULSORY".
@SammieSaliu "And if one is Protestant, his theology and soteriology is firmly built in the western tradition which COMPULSORILY includes St Augustine, and Luther (for Protestants of course)."
ππ½ This is not true. And your arguments is based on assumptions. That's all I say.
@SammieSaliu This isnt to state my own view. My point is that it isnt that controversial for a protestant to believe in a different soteriological framework that isnt shaped by Augustine and Luther. It's only an issue if one believes Augustine and Luther are right and everyone else wrong. 3/3
@SammieSaliu A protestant protests Rome. A protestant does not subsequently have to agree with Luther. Anabaptists have roots from in protestanism. They don't agree with Augustine and Luther. There are protestants now who are more influenced by Eastern theology than Western theology. 2/3
@SammieSaliu His conclusion is wise. Wisdom involves knowing what to do in the many areas the Bible does not give exact guidelines on . However, his path to that conclusion is not the best and in a faith where both the means and the ends matter, it's made his presentation problematic.
@VictoryOlaleye If this is a response to Sammie Saliu's post on William Craig, I think it's a very good one. If it's not, I think it's still an apt one. Craig has his issues but it seems some just pile on him when he doesn't agree with philosophical arguments about God not grounded in the text.
@Deborahmoses_s There is one statement that every false preacher will say in their entire lifetime of ministry:
"When God called me, you weren't there."
@Deborahmoses_s Prompt: "ChatGPT, please can you come up with some high sounding revelation using cloud of witnesses that already feeds into my biased theology based on previous chats. Please it doesn't have to follow logic. After all it's spiritual and spirit is illogical to the natural man."
@1Health_Nut@DineshDSouza What you're describing isn't calvinism. You want to eat your cake and have it too. God does harden the already hardened heart that was decreed to be hardened. Also, a sinful nature doesn't accomplish "all on its own". No maverick molecule, remember? God decrees all. ALL.
@LeGrove As a fellow Arsenal fan I must admit you give the most frustrating opinions on anything ever. Brobbey was the reason Sunderland was able to come out if not we'd have camped them in their box for the 90.
@alphafox What a boring world we'd be in if we were all alike and liked the same things. It's not for me and it's not for a lot of people but harmless niches like this should be left alone. I'd rather a child look at this, laugh and move on than the vulgarity they are exposed to online.
