You scrolling Insta for no reason is a test from Allah to see whether you utilise your time properly for deen/work for your skills.
Focus on the big goals.
Have you memorised the Qur'an yet? No.
Have you learnt Arabic? No.
Continue wasting your time. 😊
Even if you scroll Islamic reels, don't make it a habit/replacement of learning from books.
The faster you gain knowledge, the faster you forget it. (Unless ٱللَّٰهَ wills otherwise).
So always focus on one ayah at a time.
one surah at a time,
one Arabic sentence at a time.
Go to sujood. Don't ask for anything. Not for your health. Not for your job. Not for your marriage. Not for your children.
Just thank Him.
Thank Him for what He gave you, not what He withheld. Thank Him for what you see, not what you cannot see.
You will feel something shift.
When you focus on what you have, Allah gives you more.
When you focus on Him in sujood, He becomes your focus.
And when He is your focus, everything else falls into place.
Allah says: "If you are grateful, I will surely increase you." (Surah Ibrahim, 14:7)
Not "if you ask, I will give you."
If you are grateful, I will increase you.
Your asking is not what opens doors.
You're asking for needs, not what increases your rizq. Your shukr is.
There is a subtle arrogance in solely asking for your needs.
You are telling Allah, "What You gave me is not enough. I need more. I need better. I need different."
Allah says: "And if you should count the favors of Allah, you could not enumerate them." (Surah Ibrahim, 14:34)
You go to sujood every day. Multiple times.
But your mind is racing.
You ask for your problems.
You ask for your family.
You ask for your future.
You ask for your rizq.
All good things.
All necessary things.
But the asking has become the routine.
When was the last time you went to sujood and thought about Allah only?
Not asking. Not begging. Not listing your needs like a shopping list. Just thinking about Him. His greatness. His mercy. His presence. His closeness.
When you call Allah "solely" for your needs, it's a transactional relationship you're having with Allah.
Yes, Allah loves du'a from His slaves, but
If you fall into despair when you ask Him and He doesn't give. You haven't truly understood the majesty of Allah then.
Allah says:
"Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and earth, and the alternation of night and day, are signs for those of understanding." (Quran 3:190)
Ever felt a problem with truly connecting to nature verses in the Quran?
Your 9-5 corporate life has disconnected you from the nature Allah made to guide you.
Man-made noise. It never stops. Engines roaring. Phones buzzing. Notifications pinging. Headlines screaming.
Go outside. Feel the signs of Allah. Let the creation of Allah bring you closer to Allah.
This weekend, go outside. Walk barefoot on grass. Watch the sunset. Stand in the rain. Sit under a tree. Look at the sky until it makes you feel small.
The Salaf used to weep when they recited nature verses.
Not because they read them.
Because they saw them. They witnessed the sunrise. They tasted the rain. They touched the soil. They watched the stars. They knew the signs were not words.
They were experiences from Allah.
"And the earth,Allah spread it out and cast therein firmly set mountains." (Surah al-Hijr, 15:19)
But your feet never touch bare earth.
Your hands never plant a seed.
You have never watched a mountain turn blue at sunset and felt small in the presence of Allah.
Weird.....
"And Allah subjected for you the night and day, the sun and moon." (Surah Ibrahim, 14:33)
But you wake when your alarm says.
You sleep when your screen dims.
You don't feel the sun's journey.
You don't notice the moon's phases.
Your clock is artificial. Your days are manmade
You read "And Allah sent down rain from the sky" [16:65] while sitting in an air-conditioned room.
You say 'SubhanAllah' (but do you say it truly?)
You move to the next verse.
You have barely felt the rain soak your skin.
You have never watched it revive dead earth.
Allah says:
أَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُونَ الْقُرْءَانَ أَمْ عَلَى قُلُوبٍ أَقْفَالُهَا
"Do they not reflect upon the Quran? Or are there locks upon their hearts?"
(Surah Muhammad, 47:24)
When you read the Qur'an, stop at each verse, and always be curious; ask yourself, i.e.,
"Why did Allah say this?"
"How can this apply to me specifically?"
"What does this Arabic word mean?"
If you do this, Allah will bless you with critical thinking, IQ, & a sound pure heart.
Allah (God) literally wrote a book for you to dissect, memorise, and ponder.
This is your only chance to actually know your Lord in this fleeting, temporary Duniya.
Why would you NOT spend hours everyday studying it, pondering upon it, reciting it, looking at Tafseers, etc?
