@GenePark So what I'm hearing is that there's a greater chance of Waluigi becoming a main character in Super Smash Bros, than for the cancer to return?
@linusgsebastian re; LMG Clip on Apple App Store and question about Floatplane.
Since Apple will have to compete with other stores, I can't imagine that they wouldn't have to charge less and loosen the sorts of restrictions Floatplane runs into. Maybe NA will see some benefit.
@steely_glint You just nailed a big factor in why I stopped using Facebook entirely.
I maintain that social media, in general, was a mistake. It lets that toxic BS thrive far too easily, from people ignoring the advice you've suggested here. We need to stop giving them a platform.
@dan_jenkins@tomayac@n8Schloss It's Facebook, so make sure to add ", for a few months, until people forget that we did this" at the end of a lot of the sentences.
@zaksmith@TheRegister I honestly don't understand how car manufacturers haven't all just flocked to some open source system. They all do the same stuff. AM/FM radio, A/C, maybe GPS, maybe SiriusXM. None of them have anything special.
They benefit from reduced costs and users benefit from features.
@zaksmith@TheRegister Not at all surprising, if you've ever used a vehicle "infotainment" (dumb name - can we just not?) system. They're terrible - it's like there's zero design spec for them to have followed and as you've said, average developers, writing the code for it. It's just an afterthought.
@MercerBunno @squirrelderp @Hedgegod_xotwod @aroundofshe @Wendigoon8 You could have stopped at "worked". How is it so hard to make an ink printer work? We can build houses and shit with 3d printers.
As somebody that uses a clearly inferior and moronic system, it's not really a concept I'm familiar with. I'm not likely to say that something is 0.03787878... miles away.
(that's 200ft, for those curious)
Question for those that use metric natively:
When faced with numbers near unit barriers (1mm, 1m, 1km etc), when do you switch to using that unit as the base? For example, would you say 900m or .9km? 1100m or 1.1km? 1200? 1500?
My guess would be that it's region specific?
I thought I was getting used to and maybe even getting good at roundabouts, but then this... wat? @xrobau@dan_jenkins or any other aussies/brits with input?
